Apartheid
Afrikaner- are an Afrikaans-speaking ethnic group in Southern Africa descended from almost equal numbers of Dutch, French and German settlers whose native tongue is Afrikaans.
Boer- is the Dutch and Afrikaans word for farmer.
Voortrekkers- were emigrants during the 1830s and 1840s that left the Cape Colony, moving into the interior of what is now South Africa.
British- are citizens of the United Kingdom, of the Isle of Man, any of the Channel Islands, or of any of the British overseas territories, and their descendants.
Rooinek- are people who live primarily in Sub-Saharan Africa whose first language is English. It means Red neck and is an insult to whites.
Zulu- is the language of the Zulu people with about 10 million speakers, the vast majority (over 95%) of whom live in South Africa.
Kaffir- is an offensive term for a black person, most common in South Africa and other African countries.
Rainmaker- refers to the act of attempting to artificially induce or increase precipitation, usually to stave off drought.
Who were the two countries the colonised South Africa and when?
The Dutch (from Holland or the Netherlands) colonized South Africa and probably some other countries on the African continent. The French (France) colonized the Ivory Coast, now called the Cote d'Ivoir.
How did these two groups feel about each other?
They didn’t like each other as they were both fighting over power and land.
How did these two groups treat the native Africans?
They held no respect to the native Africans as they thought it was against gods will that they live there and that whites were higher in the pecking order.

How did Apartheid affect the social structure of South Africa?
There were four groups, whites, blacks coloured and Indians. They were all treated differently with the white classed as superior and the blacks as inferior.

As it was racial discrimination and all people should be treated the same, based not on what they look like or how they speak but by their actions.
